New IGCC President Benita Johnson Affirms Member Support, Focus on Diversity and Inclusion

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 20, 2020 –
The Incentive Gift Card Council (IGCC), a Strategic Industry Group within the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA), has elected new officers for 2020-2021.

Benita Johnson, gift card program manager, PetSmart, will serve as President of the IGCC Board. She has been involved in gift cards for over 16 years, from gift card fulfillment to managing programs for Applebee’s, IHOP, and Meijer. Her current role focuses on building gift card strategy and partnerships, managing promotions, design, and channel content.

“This year has been a challenging year. COVID-19 combined with the aftermath from the death of George Floyd has had a tremendous impact on business. IGCC members need to know that we are here for them. We continue to provide opportunities to connect through networking, education, and regular communications. Additionally, we are evolving our philanthropy taskforce to narrow our focus to advocating for diversity and inclusion within the gift card industry. It’s going to be a packed year – focused on providing our members with resources for personal and professional support in building successful gift card programs,” Johnson said.
The IGCC also elected Hollis Thornton, Blackhawk Network, as executive vice president; and Martha Weaver,, as director of education. Katie Dougherty, Red Lobster, serves as past president. Matt Davies, Powerhouse Brands Consulting; Matt Kerper, Wolfe, LLC; Kelly Leann Kenney, Hotels.Com L.P.; Christine Mitchell, Panera Bread; Scott Robinson, Mint Advertising; and Robert Ward, CPIM, Accor Hotels, will serve as directors.
